I am now in the second week of sculpture. Next week I will be doing ceramics and after that is visual communications. My theme is 'to insulate'. I chose newspaper as my material. So far I have made two small pieces from this and am working on a larger one from architect's plans.

I have really neglected this and will have to catch up on past work soon but for now this is what I have done most recently.
I made a number of quick pieces using mostly wire. The castle and the pawn on the left are made from plaited wire. They can't support themselves standing and are designed to hang from a frame.

Since posting last I have had to prepare my work for presenting. I decided to hang the best chess pieces I had made in a frame, so they would fit together better and become an instillation.  Hang them also allowed them to be seen differently. I used nylon thread to hang the examples I had made. I couldn't use the one made from the cardboard circles as it was too heavy for the thread to hold.
